Just a follow-up on "SD is still good for something" story.

First, and Ben will be delighted to hear this, Mom and Dad purchased a new TV stand to replace the "SDIGFS" stand. We bought one of those contemporary wood and glass jobs where the wood is that shiny piano black finish like what's on the bezel of the Sony TV.

Second, and Jeremy will like this since now he is off the hook to help out, the old 150+ pound RCA set is at the Hennepin County Recycling Center in Bloomington. Before assembling the new stand, Mom helped Dad get SDIGFS out of the family room into the living room where it stayed for a couple of nights. Using principles of the lever, friction reduction and the incline plane learned from his university days, Dad, at 5 feet 3 and a half inches tall (or short, whatever is your pleasure), moved the set down 14 stairs, then into the tuck under garage, then into the back of the minivan. BY HIMSELF. The dogs did not help one bit.

Mission Accomplished!!
